Dublin Culture Night Friday 25th September 2009

Now in its 4th year, Culture Night 2009 will be the biggest and best yet with museums, cathedrals, galleries, theatres, artist studios and other cultural venues opening late, many until midnight, welcoming visitors of all ages in for a taste of free culture for one night.
In 2008, Culture Night was an overwhelming success with over 100,000 attending the events in Dublin and this year the organisers hope to exceed that number. There will be over 120 cultural venues open to the general public including Christ Church Cathedral, the National Museum of Ireland, the Science Gallery Trinity College, The Guinness Storehouse, the Light House Cinema, The Ark, A Cultural Centre for Children, the Chester Beatty Library Dublin Castle and much more.
Outdoor Events
Dublin Culture Night 2009 will feature a full and exciting programme of outdoor events taking place across the streets and public spaces of the city. From multicultural events, street theatre shows and walkabout characters, to amazing installations and light and film projections. You can come along and visit RoboSteel at the Designer Mart Cow’s Lane, Old City, Temple Bar, Dublin 8, from 5pm – 9pm. RoboSteel will have some amazing sculptures on view to the public and if you have time check out the CHQ center down the Dublin docklands (IFSC) where RoboSteel have a 2.4 meter Alien and 2 meter Terminator sculpture on show for a limited time.
Culture Night and its programme of events are a very important event providing people with an occasion to discover and enjoy the rich cultural offering of Ireland’s top cultural venues at night.
