RoboSteel have donated a unique hand crafted Alien sculpture to Camara to help raise funds for supplying computer equipment to African schools.

This amazing prize will be raffled off exclusively to Google Ireland employees at their European Headquarters in Dublin with 100% of the proceeds  going to Camara.  The winner will be announced at TGIF (thank Google its Friday) on 31st July 2009.

The prize

This 1.1  meter high Alien King is a beautiful sculpture that contains over 750 unique parts. The parts used for construction range from a car, a boat, a motorbike and other pieces of recycled steel. The individual parts have been joined by welding and have been expertly crafted into limbs and other body parts. The sculpture has been expertly polished and sharp edges have been removed. It has been coated with several layers of strong lacquer to protect it from weathering.

Please note this raffle is only available to Google Ireland Employees and is not available to the general public.

Camara Education
Camara Education (www.camara.ie) is an Irish charity that uses technology to enhance the education system in Africa. The mission of Camara can be best described by the old Chinese proverb – “Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime”. In that spirit Camara believes that education is the key to helping Africans break out of the severe poverty they find themselves in. Camara uses the enormous technological resources in Ireland to directly help schools, colleges and community centres in Africa.

My girlfriend and I were on our holiday in Ireland when we passed your shop. I was amazed by the sculptures, amazing stuff. I visited your website a week later, and saw even more awesome sculptures. I simply love your Aliens, Predators and especially Optimus Prime. Simply stunning! I felt like a little kid staring into a toy-shop window again haha! When I’m finished writing my travel journal on my blog, I’ll make sure to link to your site.
    Greets!
